Can I update the currency of an existing subscription?

Summary


In Chargebee, you can create customized plans in the currency that you wish to collect payments from your customer. You can only create one currency per plan and it cannot be changed once a plan is made to a subscription.


If you have existing subscriptions for which you want to change the currency, you can 

  1. Create a new plan with the currency that you desire, 

  2. Create a subscription using the new plan 

  3. Cancel the existing subscription (configured in the currency that you don’t require)

Once you create a new plan you can also use the Create a subscription API to achieve this. To know more about the methods to create a subscription click here.


Warning: You would have to cancel the existing subscription, that is no longer going to be in use. This will affect your churn rate.
