Collect first payment at a later date for a new subscription

Charge the first subscription at a later date.

There are multiple ways to do this. You can add the charges to unbilled charges and invoice it later or you can use the future subscriptions feature.

With the auto-collection set as ON, there are two invoicing options:
 - Invoice now - Add to unbilled charges

You could enable Unbilled charges on subscription start, meaning when a subscription gets created and there are charges these are directly added to unbilled charges and when needed you can trigger the collection manually (Subscription > Unbilled charges > Invoice now). This setting can be configured under Settings > Configure Chargebee > Unbilled Charges.

Alternatively, you could configure a Trial period on the Plan level for a fixed number of days, hence the invoice will be generated after the trial ends.

Additionally, you can create a Future subscription, where the invoice will be generated at the specified date when the subscription will become Active. The configuration steps can be found here.
If you wish to create an Active subscription with a future invoice, this is currently not an option we support.  Please raise it as a feature request.
