Authorize.Net Error: User authentication failed due to invalid authentication values

Modified on: Sat, 5 Sep, 2020 at 12:36 PM

Summary

This error message pops up when the Authorize.Net Login ID and Transaction Key you have configured with Chargebee are no longer valid.

Info: The API Login ID and Transaction Key (unique to your Chargebee account) let Authorize.Net recognize Chargebee as a trusted application and surrender transaction information to it.

To fix this and update the credentials, Go to Chargebee Dashboard,

Settings

Configure Chargebee

Payment Gateway

Authorize.Net

> Select Configure this gateway on Chargebee.

If you don’t remember your Transaction Key, you can generate a new one in your Authorize.Net account from Account > Settings > Login ID and Transaction Key.

Warning: Authorize.Net may disable old API keys when the Disable Old Transaction Key(s) option is left unchecked. To avoid errors, use your new transaction key after it is generated.
