What is flexible discounting or manual discounting?

Modified on: Mon, 2 Aug, 2021 at 3:47 PM

While coupons are extremely useful in self-serve workflows and businesses that only offer predefined discounts in the self-serve workflows, negotiations on pricing and discount are pretty common in B2B Sales driven workflows.

Discounts are promotions or offers that can be added to a subscription without having to predefine a coupon which can lead to frictionless sales-driven workflows.

The Discounting feature brings the ability to add discounts at a line item level as well as on the entire invoice level without the need to define coupons centrally.

Key things to note:

  • This feature is built exclusively on top of Product Catalog 2.0 (PC 2.0) as the new catalog offers great advantages for this product enhancement.

  • This feature is available only in the 'Enterprise' plan.

  • All the key modules are fully supported: Subscriptions, Invoices, Notifications, Accounting and RevenueStory.

  • Limited compatibility with Quotes: the workflows that invoke sending quotes via our hosted pages is not supported at the moment.

  • We are working to support the following modules before the end of 2021.

    • Hosted-pages and Chargebee’s Checkout

    • Native CRM integrations built by Chargebee.
