Can I update the currency of an existing subscription in PC2.0?

Summary


In Chargebee PC 2.0, you can create plans and define price points i.e the billing intervals as well as the currencies that you wish to collect payments from your customer. You can create multiple currencies per frequency per plan but it cannot be changed once a price point is made to a subscription.



If you have existing subscriptions for which you want to change the currency, you can 

  1. define a new price point with the currency that you desire, 

  2. Create a subscription using the new price point

  3. Cancel the existing subscription (configured in the currency that you don’t require)

Once you create a new plan you can also use the Create a subscription API to achieve this. To know more about the methods to create a subscription click here.


Warning: You would have to cancel the existing subscription, that is no longer going to be in use. This will affect your churn rate.
