Custom setting name too long error while adding domain name in Salesforce

Summary

While connecting to salesforce and adding a domain name, you might get the error - Custom setting name too long. 

Solution

There is a limit on the site name length which is 38 in salesforce custom settings. Click here to know more. 

As a resolution please check the character length, if it exceeds please change the domain name to something shorter.
