Multiple currency support? (Multiple sites)

Can I charge customers in multiple currencies using ChargeBee?

Best Answer

We've released Multi-Currency Pricing support and it is available across all our plans. Its feature capability is based on the Chargebee plan you’re on.

For the Launch Plan/Basic Plan($59)/Standard Plan($99), a single site is limited to a maximum of 3 currencies and exchange rates have to be updated manually.

However, we’d like to mention that if you want more than 3 currencies, it is available from the Pro Plan onwards($199+). It includes complete Multi-Currency support including automatic exchange rate updates every day, along with the ability to schedule when the exchange rates should be updated. These exchange rates are used for preparing your reporting in Chargebee.

Note:

  • If you are an API user, after enabling multi-currency, update your code to pass the currency_code parameter for appropriate APIs. An error will be thrown if this parameter is not passed. More details here.

Yes you can. Right now it is possible by using multiple sites in ChargeBee, you can charge customers in different currencies. You can create additional sites (e.g acmeinc-usd.chargebee.com, acmeinc-gbp.chargebee.com) and configure the respective currency for them in ChargeBee.

Sign up for a new site here

There will be no extra charges for the additional sites that you create and charges will only be based on the number of invoices generated from all your sites.

Use a different email address to sign up for the new site and once you've signed up, invite your current site's login id as an admin to the new site. You can do this under Settings > Account Settings > Users.

When you login with your original id after that, you will have access to all your sites in one place. If you need us to make the original login id as the "Owner" of your new site, send us an email and we will make the change in the back end.

Once you're ready to go LIVE with the new site, let us know and we will enable it in the backend.

Note 1: Currently, we do not have a consolidated report of the data from multiple sites readily available but we can provide a report on request. We will build a wrapper report on top of all the sites and when this is ready, you will have access to your metrics in the ChargeBee admin console. Until then we will provide exports for each site.

Note 2: For merchants offering credit card payments and wanting to use multiple sites to support multiple currencies, ensure that your payment gateway account is setup with the appropriate currency. And you need to configure the corresponding gateway account in ChargeBee.

We also have multiple chargebee sites for multiple currencies.

Has this wrapper report been built yet?

This wrapper report is still in the pipeline and has not been implemented yet. No ETA at the moment.

Hi,

What is the status of this development ?  (Wrapper Report)

I think is very important for chargebee customers with several sites for multi-currency (Most of us).

Thanks!

Hi Jose!

Right now, we are working on releasing the "Tax" and "Credit Note" features. We'll start working on the "Multi Currency" feature as soon as we release these.
