Fixed renewal dates

Currently, customers are charged immediately after checking out which is fine, however I'd like to be able to set a fixed date for subscription renewals. Right now I'd have to go into each individual account and change the renewal date. My subscription business is quarterly and I'd like customers subscriptions to be renewed on the 1st day of each quarter; January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1, no matter the day they signed up. If this option is available please let me know how to do it.

Also, it would be nice if we had the ability to set a specific date in the future to begin plans. My subscribers can sign up for my plans on the first day of each quarter, through the 15th of the second month in the quarter. For example in quarter 4, sign up is from October 1 through November 15, and in Quarter 1, sign up is from January 1 through February 15. I'd like people to be able to sign up after the cut off date, but not be charged until the next quarter.

For example, people can sign up on November 16 in quarter 4 which is after the cutoff date, but their card won't be charged until January 1 which is quarter 1. Right now what I'm having to do is remove the links from my join now buttons and then I have to add them again when the new quarter begins.

Hello Stephanie,

Thank you for sharing the request. Very interesting scenarios.

To set a fixed date subscription is not on the user interface, but I believe we have implemented a way to do that for certain customers. But we should have this implemented in the user interface as a configuration, so you can setup how to align the billing dates, based on your preferences. Not implemented yet, but will add to the feature request in roadmap. In the meantime, I will check with team, how this was addressed for certain customers and notify you.

The second feature to set a specific date in future is possible with a simple javascript code in checkout page. You can pass the next billing date, at the time customer clicks on subscribe button. And how to align the "next billing date" logic can be written in a piece of code that can handle it.

Let me create a ticket on your behalf to create that custom javascript for you to assist you, so you don't have to remove the links or do it manually.

Thanks,

Krish.

Hi Stephanie

Trust you have been doing great!

We have released Calendar Billing that prorates the first invoice on sign up (based on a preset billing date) and aligns the billing date so that all subscriptions renew at the same date every month.

Give it a shot and let me know if you have any questions!
